Noticeably Nude

Recently I find myself obsessing over nude nail polish. I typically go for deep reds but recently nude polish seems classic and refreshing. It makes the nails look longer and chips are less noticeable when in between appointments.

Below are a few pinterest finds to get you inspired to try this look!

Oh, the winds in Chicago have torn me to shreds; Reality has always had too many heads

On the calendar next week is a spontaneous trip to Chicago. With Georgia weather being warm most of the year, I never splurge on heavy winter accessories. However, my last-minute trip could turn permanent (more details to come) so adding these staples to the wardrobe could become reality!

As this visit involves work, I want to look chic and professional without being boring in black. Opting for these neutrals are not only work friendly but will keep me warm for winters to come.

Winter is here and with Atlanta temperatures cooling down – flannel keeps finding its’ way in my closet! It’s warm, it’s casual, it’s easy.

Where flannel was once reserved for tops and PJ’s; it has extended its reach and refined its look. Working its’ way into shoes and bags, this materials makeover has shown its sophisticated side. Check out a few items I have my eye on.

Workin’ It 9 to 5

So sorry for the hiatus but you will soon learn what I have been up to!

As you’ve read {Here} and {Here} I have dedicated my new year to trying new things. Here goes the next ‘new 2013’ thing in my life – a new JOB!

Putting myself back on the job market meant preparing my wardrobe for interviews. The bottom looks inspired me while digging for the right look to make that first impression. Whether looking for a new job or a promotion, these outfits can help put your best forward.

Sorry about the monograms Mom!

Monogram has a whole different meaning in the South. Monogram isn’t a glorified way of ‘putting our name’ on something; it is a tradition. We monogram not because it is on trend but because our ‘mama’s always did it’. It has long evolved from stitched letters on a cardigan to home decor, gadget markers and ect….

A few years back, everyone on my college campus were walking around with *new* tiny colorful gadgets that played sound – the ipod Nano was born and I was dying for my very own. Finally, that Christmas morning I unwrapped pink Ipod Nano. Upon inspection I noticed my name had been etched in the back. Forever marked with my name was ‘ok I guess’ as long as I could hear tunes.

Thinking back on all the items my step mom had monogrammed with my name or initials, I lose count. I now realize I never appreciated the monogram. How sad, right? Such a southern tradition should have been embraced at a young age – but somehow I kindled my monogram love at a older age.  Upon this revelation, I share with you monogram items I would like to add to my collection – being as nowadays, I can’t get enough of personalization!!!!

I’m sick of winter! Beach visits are heavy on the brain and these monogram wayfarers will have to make their way into my beach bag ASAP!

Since I am forced to tolerate the winter season, I love these pre-personalized gloves from C. Wonder. Not only are they super soft cashmere but they also work on your smart phone. No more taking off your gloves to text!

A southern woman should always have a handkerchief in her purse. I dream of my Grandmother passing down her delicate hankies. Until that day, I will start my own collection. I will definitely be hinting around to my Valentine for this Etsy find.

My friends and I all have the same phone. It’s inevitable I guess but sure makes for a headache when we are together. After returning from many girls trip with my phone charger mistakenly making its way into a friends bag, I will be investing into this monogrammed phone charger from the southern based Creations by Jac!

Wow! I am in love with this monogram door hanger from the oh-so-southern Carolina Moon Crafts. Could this teal blue and dark stain door get any more southern sophist-fied?!
