Windy Wrap Up

As mentioned {here} & {here}, I visited the windy city this week on business but managed to sneak in a few hours to tour the town. First stop, Cloud Gate. My favorite Chicago staple; I always make a point to stop by and reflect on the city.

I also had the chance to visit the Christkindlmarket Chicago to take in beautiful handcrafted ornaments made by Germans. The stunning Christmas tree and manger scene really got me into the Christmas spirit! Can’t wait to head home for the holidays and spend a little time with the family.

Since I needed to pack light, I ended up sporting my packable puffer all trip and kept my feet warm in my favorite Frye boot – the veronica slouch. Get a similar look below! XO

Oh, the winds in Chicago have torn me to shreds; Reality has always had too many heads

On the calendar next week is a spontaneous trip to Chicago. With Georgia weather being warm most of the year, I never splurge on heavy winter accessories. However, my last-minute trip could turn permanent (more details to come) so adding these staples to the wardrobe could become reality!

As this visit involves work, I want to look chic and professional without being boring in black. Opting for these neutrals are not only work friendly but will keep me warm for winters to come.

Mash Play.

Ok – I assume I’m unable to just ignore my year long pause placed on the pretty peach – so let me bring you up to speed. Per my last post {Prep up Princess} I began a new job in the adult world! Although it has been a great experience, the personal life took a back burner while getting acclimated to the ‘big girl world’. So, I’m sure your asking…. what have I been up to while letting all this newness settle?

One thing I love about the ‘new’ job – is the opportunities I am given to travel! Before, this southern peach had stayed comfortably within the boundaries of the Bible belt. If four wheels couldn’t take me there, I probably hadn’t been. Now, I am proud to add a few pins to the state map.

No trip to Philly would be complete without a philly cheese!

Probably the most enjoyed trip of all – the beautiful Chicago.

With the passing of my sweet Layla, our home felt so empty and the three of us turned into complete slubs. A huge energy left our home with Layla that was quite noticeable. After time passed and through much consideration, we decided to add a new boston baby to our family. For those who havent, meet our {Bad Girl Suzi}.

My apologies for pausing pretty little peach recently but note I am now paying the consequences for time off. I am lost in a sea of unfinished crafts – my SD card is full of pictures never shared and the boyfriend is sick of being my main source of entertainment. This little corner of the internet I call mine truly brings joy and purpose to my life – so why did I stop?

Be still when you have nothing to say; when genuine passion moves you, say what you’ve got to say, and say it hot.                -D.H. Lawrence

Thank your for enduring my hiatus – I hope you will rejoin me on this southern adventure as I explore, learn and share. Instead of enjoying pause – I’m ready to mash play.

XOXO

MIA

Hi loves! I’m posting from the beautiful Saint Simons Island, Georgia. Christmas is over and relaxing has ensued. I was a really good girl this year from the looks of all the goodies Santa left for me!

While I selfishly soak up sea air, feast your eyes on a few photos I captured of my holiday fun! I would love to hear about yours  – tweet me @theprettypeach

Keep it peachy!

Let’s fly, let’s fly away!

Oh! hello agian holiday travel…we meet agian! Something I love to hate but at the end of the day must do. With travel on the brain, I have my eye on a new duffle to replace the old L.L. bean I had from highschool. Though I would love to arrive in style with the luxurios Bottega Venta pictured below, my budget tends to be torn between the J. Crew and C. Wonder options. Both are fabulous with the perfect amount of room to stuff a weekend wardrobe in. I love the idea of the easy to clean nylon with monogram options from C. Wonder but I also adore the clean classic look offered up from J. Crew.

Decisions, decisions! Tweet me your pick @theprettypeach

Keep it peachy!
